It is Gudjeuk time and the earth and its beings rejoice with all the rain. Anmorlak, the billy goat plums are growing. Almangiyi, the long neck turtles are swimming around now the floodplains and creeks are flooded. Ginga, the saltwater crocodiles have made their nests and laid their eggs and djadi, the frogs sing with the rain and spread lots of eggs in the water. Bamurru, the Magpie geese are preparing nests in the floodplain grasses and sedges. The land…
